Travel and Accommodations

NASSR 2011 will take place at the Park City Marriott, a  three-and-a-half-star conference hotel 36 miles east of Salt Lake City International Airport.  To receive the special NASSR rate of $109 per night, conference goers needed to book their rooms by July 10.

Given that Park City is primarily a ski town, hotel rooms tend to be plentiful in the summer months.  Three nearby hotels worth considering are (in order of diminishing quality) the Park Plaza, the Carriage House, and the Prospector Square Lodge.

Salt Lake City International is a major airport with direct flights to and from most large US cities.  The airport is a Delta hub, and thus the widest range of flights will likely be found through Delta and its partner airlines.

Since there is no public transport from Salt Lake City International to Park City, those traveling by air will need to reserve a shuttle to Park City.  The conference has contracted with Park City Transportation (1-800-637-3803) to provide door-to-door van service from the airport to the conference hotel for $35 each way.  The easiest way to receive the conference rate is to use the reservations page created specially for NASSR 2011. To reserve by fax, click here for a fax form.

Taxi service from the airport costs approximately $120.  If you’re traveling with a group, you might find renting a car at the airport the most affordable option.

From the airport, take I-80 east. (I-80 will take you all the way to Park City, but be careful not to miss two merges–the first just outside of the airport, toward City Center/Ogden/Provo, the second at exit 304, toward Cheyenne.) Take Exit #145, Park City. Turn right onto UT-224 S. Proceed approximately six miles and turn left at traffic signal (corner of Park Ave. and Kearns Blvd.). Continue one and a half blocks and turn right on Sidewinder Dr. The hotel is on the right. Estimated driving time: 45 min.
